Privacy is important 

We regard the lawful and correct treatment of personal data as vital to maintaining the confidence of the many people we deal with. The Council must ensure we treat personal data lawfully and correctly, any personal information given will only be used in accordance with the principles found in the General Data Protection Regulations.  For more information about the General Data Protection Regulations visit: 

 If you are in receipt of any personal information on behalf of the Council, we need to ensure that it will only be used for delivering services or keeping people up to date with the Green Dog Walkers Campaign. The only exception is by law or for the prevention and detection of crime. 

What type of information is collected from you?

In order to administer our services for the Green Dog Walkers Campaign we may ask you to collect personal information from volunteers by signing up to the pledge.

The only information which must be collected is name and address details along with an email contact for potential pledgers.

We ask that you keep this information secure and it must not be shared with any third parties.

How long to keep pledgers information (retention period)

Data is only held as long as is necessary, unless superseded by statutory regulation, and disposed of securely when it is no longer needed.  We would recommend that you contact the pledgers every year to ensure they are happy for us to retain their information for the campaign and give them the option to have this removed. All have rights under the Data Protection Legislations which includes knowing the information that is held about them and how this information is used.
